What is an Electronic Travel Authorization ?
An Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA), is an official authorization for a visit visa to Sri Lanka. The authorization is issued electronically online.
Do I need an ETA prior to traveling to Sri Lanka ?
Yes, you must be in possession of a valid ETA prior to traveling to Sri Lanka.
What happens when I arrive in Sri Lanka with an ETA ?
On arrival in Sri Lanka you must present the following to the Immigration Officer.
- Printed copy of the ETA
- Passport valid for at least 6 another 6 months
- Return airticket
- Proof of funds
The immigration will then issue you a short stay visit visa valid for 30 days. This can be extended in Sri Lanka for up to 6 months.
What are the Fees for this service ?
SAARC Nationals : $ 15.00
Other Nationals : $ 30.00
Children under 12 of any nationality are free of charge.
